The passing of a perfect dog

Being in the dog sitting business for the past few years, it is inevitable that dogs are going to die. It is always sad, but thankfully it is not as bad as if it were your own dog. Yesterday we got a note from the parents of our best customer, Terrapin, that she passed away on Nov. 7th. Terrapin's family had to do a lot of traveling when they were here in Germany, and she sometimes would come and stay with us for months at a time. She was always a joy to have around because she understood everything, was always ready to get out and walk or SWIM or EAT!!! She was perfect with our boy Uben though he bugged her almost incessantly to play with him. Every once in awhile she'd give in and humor him with a swat or a moan or would roll over on her back and let him put his mouth in hers. She went on vacation with us to the South of France, and at least in our own minds we became her dog grandparents. If you are prone to love dogs Terrapin was irresistible. To hear that she has passed is almost as bad for me as if she were our own. We loved you old girl, we were always happy to have you here, and I hope the time your spent with us made being away from your family a little easier than it would have otherwise been. Rest in peace and eat until you don't want anything more.
