Benny - I got into a big fight today with Felix our neighbor. I'm really against him joining my pack and I don't like him to be too close to my mom. We had a big snarly knockdowndragout fight and my mom got in the middle and got the worst of it. She has huge scratches down her leg complete with bruises. The back of her elbow got bit by Felix but thank goodness the holes are not that deep. She feels beat up tonight. I got sent to timeout with Uben who also tried to get in the fight. I'm a bad influence on young Uben. I went to the lake after I got out of timeout, and I have become a serious skin diver and bodysurfer. I'm one great swimmer. I learned all about it from Terrapin who is an Olympic gold medalist in stick retrieval (she can even do double and triple stick retrieval). I love Uben's bed but I like Provence most for the large and high quality sticks. Grrrrr. Stay back. Don't get too close to my mom. Or my stick. Or anything that is mine.
Terrapin - (Singing) Life is good, life is good, life is good. Swimming, my favorite. Food, my favorite. Going for a walk, my favorite. Eating cherries off the tree, my favorite. Realizing I can feed myself at the cherry tree, my favorite. Sticks, my favorite. The LAKE!! My favorite! The neighbors, my favorite. Markies, my favorite. Cold floor on a hot day, my favorite. Dog fights, not interested. Snort. Snort.
Uben - There's a bird, I see a bird, do y'all see that bird, did somebody say bird? Birds, my favorite.

I like to swim more than ever. Like Benny, I got some swimming and stick lessons from Terrapin, and now I have better skills than before I used to have.They say I look like an otter when I'm wet. I like Benny and Terrapin and Felix. I like everybody come to think of it. Life is fun fun fun and all my cousins are here in Provence.
Felix - Ich mag die Provence. Uben ist mein Freund und die Terrapin auch, aber Benny ist ein kleiner Teufel. The people in the big house like me, even though Benny has tried to turn them against me. I love to swim too. Today I went Uben's house and stole 2 dog bowls, every towel that I could reach that was outside, and I was not too swift about giving things back..but then Benny keeps taking my toys so this is how I retaliate. I bit his mom on the elbow and scratched her leg, but I did not mean it, and I got her something nice for her hair because I felt bad about it. I like Provence except for the stickers in my beard.
Oh what a good time we had. Here we are waiting patiently in the car for our moms who were outside taking pictures of lavender. We almost just had a head on collision with a crazy French driver who we think was drunk and on the wrong side of the road. We pulled into a wheat field to avoid the accident and she almost hit us anyway when she swerved even further into our lane. Our moms were upset but we think everything is an adventure. I (Terrapin) have decided to drive from now on because Susan is shaky. She said something about an adrenaline rush. I wonder if this is something I can eat.
